Annette Orban has been creating innovative designs for over 20 years. She began her career in Los Angeles as a graphic designer and art director. During her time in L.A., Annette worked for many of the top advertising agencies in California, including Ogilvy & Mather, JWT and BBDO. Annette created movie posters and title designs for many notable films, including Thelma & Louise, Steel Magnolias and A Few Good Men. Her Hollywood work was entered and shown at the prestigious Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards. Annette also won a Los Angeles Art Director's Club award. In 1993 Annette moved to Portland, Oregon to explore new challenges in retail design and product marketing. In Portland |
she did print collateral work and signage for Nike and Columbia Sportswear, including a 24-foot mural for NikeTown's NY store. In Portland she formed her own business which she operated indepen- dently for several years, until she was invited to merge her client base in partnership with East Bank Communications, Inc. There, Annette served as Creative Director. During her two-year tenure, the agency's annual billings nearly doubled, reaching over $1.2 million despite an industry-wide recession in Oregon. The agency's clients included KinderCare, with over 1,200 childcare centers nationwide; and Northwest Hardwoods. In 2002, Annette left East Bank to create Orban Ranch, where great ideas roam free. |
